The New Hanover Humane Society, a non-profit animal shelter, cordially invites you to come out to visit during our business hours of 10:00 am to 2:00 pm, Monday through Friday.
We are located on the left hand side of 23rd Street, just before the airport driveway, if you are coming from Market Street or the Martin Luther King Parkway. Our sign is out front and can easily be seen.
We are very proud of our shelter since the completion of recent renovations and would be pleased to show you around. More importantly, the animals love company and any extra attention is greatly appreciated!

There are two fenced-in exercise yards for the dogs and a screened-in cat porch for the cats where visitors can spend time getting to know the animal of their choice.
There usually is ample parking. We look forward to seeing you soon.
You must be 18 years or older to volunteer. You can come in anytime during open hours to fill out our volunteer application/waiver.
You must be 20 years or older to adopt an animal. You can come in anytime during open hours to meet the animal you want to adopt, and fill out our application.
